Update for incoming Class of 2026 transfer students

For the next couple of weeks, you’ll participate in your first pre-registration cycle at Wes. You can find information about this process through resources such as our Faculty & Student Advising Handbook, Advising Guidelines, within sections of the Academic Road Map on WesPortal, and through the assistance of our wonderful Academic Peer Advisors (APAs). Check out the APA welcome video here.

A hallmark of a Wesleyan education is our open-curriculum. We are dedicated to providing an education in the liberal arts that is characterized by boldness, rigor, and practical idealism. The conversations you have with your pre-major liberal arts advisor will be guided by the principles of a liberal arts education. Be sure to explore courses that excite you, challenge you or even push you out of your comfort zone.

Wesleyan also offers a range of academic resources that we encourage you to explore; utilizing resources proactively, even when you think you may not need them, is a great strategy for student success. Remember, it will be useful to get acquainted with your options during any down time you may have now, from learning about APAs and faculty office hours, to exploring the support offered by writing mentors, other tutors, and experienced research librarians. Most of these resources are highlighted on the Student Academic Resources (SAR) website, so explore as you wish.
Best of luck creating an exciting and rewarding fall schedule!
